How can I check my Census form?

The Excel form includes a data validation sheet. When you enter your responses in the Census form the Data Validation Form will be automatically populated with your responses. You can check your numbers by clicking the check button at the end of the Census form under the heading Submitting your form. This will take you to the validation sheet.

The validation sheet contains two sections. The first section summarises the errors and warnings that have been identified. The second section contains details of all errors and warnings. If you submit a file containing uncorrected errors you will receive an email from the CES asking you to submit a corrected file. You should check any warnings because they highlight totals that may be incorrect. However, you will not receive an email from the CES if you submit a file that contains warnings.
